Look who came back! As Visalia's premier newborn photographer I love when our newborn clients return to celebrate their baby's first birthday with us. It's always fun to see how much they've grown and what milestones they've made. When Miss Felicity visited for her portrait session she was crawling and standing assisted as captured in the candid photo of her holding onto mama's hands. You may think you only want a cake smash, however I always recommend taking a few classic photos focusing on your baby to capture their personality and facial expressions without the distraction of a cake. Welcome baby Parker! Many of my client's are first time parents who want to capture the deep love and bond they feel with their baby and with their partner. Baby Parker loved being held in his Mommy and Daddy's arms while he slept peacefully which gave me an opportunity to capture many individual and family portraits. Your first professional family portrait is one that you will have and cherish for a lifetime. Most of my sessions in the Visalia area are done in my studio where I can have control over the environment for brand new babies. Every once in a while though I have an opportunity to get outside and help a family celebrate something special in their lives. For this beautiful young lady, her family wanted to celebrate her 15th birthday with a professional portrait session. We had originally planned on meeting at a local park but when I saw that our valley's almond orchards were in bloom, I promptly contacted her parents to suggest we move the session. Of course they agreed and when they arrived for her session, were in awe of the beautiful location. I'm so glad ...
Wildflower! That's what this beautiful mama calls her 2 year old daughter because she is full of life and spirit. So how appropriate that we should shoot this family's maternity session in the last bit of wildflowers left from the central valley's rains. We're so grateful for clients who choose us to capture and preserve their special moments in life and can't wait to meet "Wildflower's" baby brother!

To cancel or not to cancel? That was the question of the day. It was pouring rain all morning which turned into a slight drizzle by the time of the Clark family's session. I'm always game to give it a try whatever the conditions and with a brave Mom on board we decided to go for it. It was just one of those blessed moments where the rain literally stopped for the hour long session and then started up again right as we finished! Driving home it started to pour again and I was just marveling at how it had all worked out. We mostly had cloud cover which makes for very flat lighting but the sun did peak through a few times creating some beautiful sunny images ...
